Who you are buying from
About Us
We started with one shed and a borrowed trailer
Eighteen years ago this was two people, a shop with a leaking roof and a trailer borrowed from a neighbour. The first shed went to a customer four miles away who still has it, and who still sends people to us.
What has changed since is the number of buildings and the number of people. What has not changed is that everything is still built here, by people we employ, rather than bought in and badged. If you visit the yard on a weekday you will hear it being made.
Why we still build it ourselves
Buying finished buildings from a distant factory would be cheaper for us, and we would lose the ability to say yes to the awkward requests — the extra door on the gable end, the loft only over half the length, the colour match to the house. Roughly a third of what leaves here has been changed from the standard in some way. That is only possible because the shop is fifty feet from the office.
The part we are proudest of
Most of our work now comes from people who were sent by someone we built for years ago. We have never had a sales team, and we do not intend to get one.
How we work
Four things we will not compromise on
Real timber, properly fixed
Kiln-dried framing on sixteen-inch centres, screws rather than staples where it matters, and a floor you can drive a mower onto without it flexing.
An honest fit
If the building you are asking about is too big for the spot, or bigger than you need, we will say so. Selling you the wrong thing costs us more than it makes.
The price is the price
Every option is itemised on the quote. Nothing gets added at delivery, and we do not discount off a number we inflated first.
We come back
Ten-year workmanship warranty, and a phone that gets answered by someone who knows the building. Problems get fixed, not argued about.
Tell us what you have in mind
Send us the size, the finish and where it is going. We will come back with a written price — usually the same day.
